Lela Rose for Payless: Unforgettable Moments

Famed designer Lela Rose has partnered with Payless to create Unforgettable Moments. This bridal shoe collection consists of 12 shoe styles, 9 of which can be dyed -- with 64 custom colors to choose from. The shoes are all under $50 and the best part is that the custom dye job is absolutely F-R-E-E!

The one thing that always irks me when I attend weddings is seeing a pair of shoes that is completely out of place in the bridal party! It's like a game of 'one of these things is not like the other' lol.

All of the bridesmaids are wearing the same dress and accessories, similar hair & makeup. Everything looks so fabulously put together...until I pan down to the feet! There's always one person in the bridal party that didn't get the shoe memo. So to prevent this from happening I think all brides should try to gift shoes and accessories for their bridesmaids. I know I definitely will when I have to plan my wedding.

Below are some of the dyeable Lela Rose shoes:

Audrey Slingback Peep Toe
Jackie Quarter Strap Dress Sandal

Sophia Ballet Flat - perfect for the reception!

They also have the cutest flower girl shoes to choose from, all priced under $40.

All of the Unforgettable Moments shoes can be purchased in Payless stores or online (shipping is free).

Publicity Stunt or True Love?

I usually don't blog about celebrity couples, but I couldn't resist this latest bit of gossip...

It was only a few weeks ago that there were whispers on the internet that Khloe Kardashian and L.A. Lakers forward Lamar Odom were dating and now they're planning to get married this Sunday!! What happened to taking things slow and getting to know each other before making a serious lifetime commitment?

I was watching Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami last Sunday, and she was ranting about her disdain for relationships and essentially said that all men suck and that her last NBA boyfriend was only with her for publicity. I personally think that if it really is love they can wait to see if they still want to get married in about six months or so. What's the rush?! Maybe she has a little one on the way...who knows! I just think that marriage after less than a month of dating is not the best idea.

However it's not impossible for whirlwind courtships that lead to quick marriages to last. One of my Mom's friends got married to a man after they only dated for three weeks and they were married for over 30 years before he died suddenly of a heart attack.

But then again they were not living in Hollywood!

So on Sunday we'll find out if this wedding is the real deal, or if we've all been punked. Do you think the Kardashian-Odom union will be a lasting one, or will they be headed for divorce court by the time Spring Fashion Week rolls around?

2009 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Style

Last night the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards aired. Although it's not my favorite award show (I love the Grammys) I still tuned in to see what the stars were wearing.

There were a number of stand outs on the red carpet this year...for both good and bad reasons. I noticed that a lot of people chose to wear either a white, red or jewel tone gown and of course there were several of classic black gowns.

Both hair and makeup fell into two catagories:
Hair - styled in an updo or a ponytail, or left down in tousled curls.
Makeup - smokey eyes/nude lips or understaded eyes/red or bold pink lips.

Below are some of my favorite looks of the evening!

Olivia Wilde

Kim Kardashian

Debra Messing

Blake Lively

Vanessa Williams

Grey Doesn't Always = Glum...

Grey is one of my favorite basic colors – in addition to black and white – and it is a definite must for any fall wardrobe.

I personally think that when grey is paired with just about any bold or pastel, the color combination is simply gorgeous.

You can incorporate grey into your Fall wardrobe with clothing, handbags, jewelry, shoes and even nail polish!

Below are some of my favorite grey wardrobe essentials for the Fall.

Lucky Brand Burnett Leather Jacket. Instead of opting for the usual black leather jacket, go for grey!

Banana Republic Ribbed Cowl Neck Sweater Dress. This dress is perfect for a night out when worn with knee high boots, and quite effortless when it comes to styling it. You can always add a belt to give it a different look, or pair it with stockings and ankle booties for a day at the office. And the best thing about this dress is that it's now on sale!

Aldo Racette Peep Toe Ankle Boot. These ankle boots are fierce and fabulous, and can easily be carried from Fall 09 into Spring 10.

Aldo Franchette Pump. These patent pumps are very chic and classic. A must for every woman!

Banana Republic Zermatt Medium Satchel. This leather satchel will certainly be a trusty bag for its owner. I love the hardware and knot detail on the handles.

Banana Republic Faceted Collar Necklace. I love statement necklaces!! This statement necklace can take a simple LBD or a plain tee and skinny jeans ensemble, and transform it into something extraordinary.

OPI Nail Lacquer in Give Me the Moon. This nail lacquer is the perfect compliment for a sleek mani-pedi.
Looking forward to Fall weather as each day passes...

Fall Into Fashion

Over the weekend I did a little shopping and picked up a few items to add to my Fall/Winter wardrobe.

I purchased these patent leather Steve Madden ankle boots at Ross for a great price! They're comfortable, and I definitely think I'll get my wear out of them this season.

The name of the style is 'Vulture' (hate the name. love the shoe!) and it is an Oxford style ankle boot, that features a lace closure. The heel measures 4.5 inches and has a 3/4 inch covered platform. I can't wait to wear them!!

I am also on a mission to find a Boyfriend blazer to wear this Fall with my dresses, skinny jeans and leggings (if I ever muster the courage to wear them as 'pants', lol).

I found this one on the Express website, and it fits the bill of what I'm looking for. I'm also going to see what H&M and Zara have as well, before I make my final choice...such a big decision to make, haha!

Game Day!

If you live in the Southeastern part of the country you know that Saturday’s in the Fall are reserved for one thing only – COLLEGE FOOTBALL!

I’ve never liked football, or watched it regularly on TV. My only real exposure to the sport was when I would attend Super Bowl parties or occasionally wear a Miami t-shirt for my parents.

This all changed when I went to college...

In Florida, Georgia - well any state in the Southeast and Texas – football, specifically college football is a BIG DEAL.

Below are the big college football states, minus Texas:

In a mere matter of months I transformed from being a person who had absolutely no interest in football, to someone who checked ESPN.com on a weekly basis to check for my school’s ranking.

I really miss not being able to go tailgating with my sorority sisters and our beaus like we did way back when… ah, the ever so faint memories!

In the spirit of school spirit, I’d like to tell you about a fairly new designer and fellow collegiate alum, Tracy Negoshian.

Her first fashion venture was a line called My Team Boutique, which featured apparel that was strictly focused on college football teams. Her self named clothing line, Tracy Negoshian, features more resort wear and her designs are reminiscent of Tory Burch and Lilly Pulitzer, but priced for the budget fashionista.

A lot of the dresses from the Tracy Negoshian line feature school colors and are great to wear for game days. Below is my favorite style, Coco, which retails for $89.

Perfect for Florida girls...GO GATORS!!!

If you're a Georgia fan you'll love this dress. Also great for Atlanta Falcon games!

Louisiana or LA Lakers Ladies can get their wear out of this dress.

If you're a Carolina fan, this dress is for you...just wear it during basketball season!

For Bama Belles...Roll Tide!

I could not leave this last dress out! As a lover of the pink/green color combination, I think this dress is perfection! It's also great for sorority girls -- if you're an AKA or Delta Zeta this one's for you.

With cute dresses like these how could you not want to go to the game?!

Jimmy Choo For H&M

As a self-proclaimed shoe lover I am VERY excited about this…

The iconic luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo has partnered with H&M to create a collection that will launch this Fall!!!!!!!

Jimmy Choo + H&M = Cheap Chic

In a statement regarding the partnership, Founder and President of Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon stated the following:

We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too...Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection – the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!

The collection will also include apparel – which was the initial focal point of the collection. The shoes and handbags were designed specifically to compliment the clothing.

The collection will launch on November 14th! To find an H&M near you, click here.

Have a Fabulous Friday and take some time out to remember those who died tragically eight years ago today.

These Booties Are Made For Walkin'...

Today is 09.09.09. I don't know much about numerology so I have no idea if this date is supposed to hold any type of significance. I just like dates like this, because they're fun to write LOL.

I remember when it was 07.07.07 because so many people were getting married that day! My orthodontist got engaged over the Summer, and she told me that she was thinking about 08.09.10 or 10.10.10 as possible wedding dates!

In other news...

Now that Labor Day has passed it is officially Fall for many. It's still fairly warm in Atlanta, so I'm mentally straddling the Summer/Fall fence. I'm a Florida girl, so I'll continue to wear my shorts, tanks and sandals for as long as I possibly can! However I have noticed that many stores are beginning to sell boots and sweater dresses so I guess it won't feel like Summer much longer.

With that in mind I decided to do a little 'online browsing' for potential Fall/Winter shoes, and I came across an array of darling booties. They all have feminine touches of ruffles or flower details, so I'm absolutely in love with all of them!

Betsey Johnson Kilburn. I love the rosette detail and the signature pink soles.

BCBG Colly. One word - RUFFLES! I'd wear this with a very simple ensemble.

Corso Cosmo Gianna. The bow accent is too cute.

Dollhouse Kim. Chic and affordable...perhaps that is why they're all sold out online!

Kelsi Dagger Rosabella. These booties definitely make a statement.

Pour La Victoire Cassandra. I think Marie Antoinette would wear these if they were around circa 1788. In my opinion they can be worn by a chic Grandmother or her 20-something Granddaughter, because they posess an 'ageless stylishness' (if that makes any sense...)

Now that I think about it I would have to say that boots (booties, knee high, etc.) are my must have Fall/Winter accessory. Do you have a must have cold weather accessory. If so, I'd like to know!

Have a wonderful Wednesday and Stay Bronzed and Beautiful!

PRODUCT REVIEW: Biore Skin Preservation Line

Biore Skin Preservation is the newest line to launch from Biore Skincare. It is primarily targeted towards the 20 and 30-something demographic with ‘inbetween skin’, those that are too old for acne and too young for wrinkles. The products in the line rage in price from $6.99 to $14.99, and can be purchased at all drugstores, Target and Wal-Mart.

I was given the opportunity to try out the entire line, and I have been using the products for just about a month.

First I have to mention that I love the little message that is on the inside tab of the box. It reads, “The Biore skincare experts and your skin thank you for buying this product.” I love little details like this, which shows that companies really care about providing their consumers with quality products. My only suggestion is that this message should be placed on the inside center of the opening flap of the box in a blue or green font so that it is more noticeable.

Now on to the review!

-Dual Fusion Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30: I like the packaging and dual pump. It has a fresh scent, it’s weightless and easily rubs into skin. I love that it has a significant amount of SPF coverage AND it’s lightweight – an almost impossible moisturizer formula to find.

- Clean Things Up Nourishing Gel Cleanser: I love, love, love how this smells! It smells soo good. My boyfriend even asked me what I had on after I’d washed my face with it. I think Biore needs to come out with a body wash, lotion and body spray in this scent…ASAP (I’ve always wondered if Biore would eventually venture into creating body products). I just used two pumps and rubbed my palms together to create a creamy lather. The cleanser left my skin with a clean and non-greasy or filmy feeling. This is the perfect cleanser for those with combination/oily skin.

- Hard Day’s Night Overnight Moisturizer: I like the title – it’s cute, catchy and says what the product will do all at the same time. Again, it’s lightweight, rubs into the skin easily and has a fresh scent.

- See The Future Fortifying Eye Cream: I’m always in search of the perfect eye cream to use for those nights when I don’t get enough sleep. I began using this cream both in the morning and evening and I definitely did see a difference! Whenever I have a little puffiness underneath my eyes, I just dab on a tiny amount of this lightweight cream and go. It also helps to improve the appearance of dark circles. I also really like the ballpoint pen like applicator tip.

- Even Smoother Microderm Exfoliator: Again, this product has the same fresh scent as all of the other products, and gently – yet effectively exfoliates the skin. The granules of the Even Smoother Microderm Exfoliator are much finer than those of the St. Ives Apricot Scrub, thus being gentler for delicate skin.

The only product that I wish was included in this line, is a toner. Other than that I love this line, my skin loves this line and I will definitely continue to use it! If you're in search of a quality yet affordable skin care system, I suggest you try out the Biore Skin Preservation line.
