The 82nd Academy Awards Red Carpet Style

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards have just finished wrapping up, and there are many celebrities out celebrating their big win this evening. Although I love going to the movies, this is not my favorite award show to watch…but I certainly love tuning in to the pre-show to see what everyone is wearing on the red carpet!




This year there were not too many standouts, in my opinion. I was however especially drawn to the gowns in the gold/champagne color family and they were some of my favorites!

As far as makeup went, the majority seemed to steer away from the usual smokey eye look, minus Nicole Richie, who wore a smokey gunmetal shadow on her lids to compliment her gown.

Most celebs went with a natural, not too fussy look and opted for golden lids paired with nude lips and glowing skin – with the exception of Sandra Bullock who wore hot pink lipstick and Cameron Diaz, who went ultra glam with red lips!

One of the most highly anticipated nominations this year, was for the movie Precious. The movie was based off of the novel Push, by Sapphire. I noticed that many of the Precious cast wore royal/sapphire blue gowns. Perhaps it was in honor of Sapphire!
