Today is National Pancake Day, and in honor of the day IHOP is giving away free pancakes! The offer for one free short stack (three pancakes) is not valid with any other coupon and is limited to one per customer. The giveaway is from 7am - 10pm.

All that you need to do to enjoy your pancakes, is make a donation to the Children's Miracle Network after you've finished dining, and all restaurants have donation boxes on site!


The Children's Miracle Network is a wonderful organization that has helped to raise funds for more than 170 children's hospitals.

Mardi Gras 2010

New Orleans is definitely abuzz with their recent Super Bowl victory and now Mardi Gras! I've never been to New Orleans or an 'authentic' Mardi Gras celebration, but I do enjoy visiting Louisiana Cajun/Creole inspired restaurants and hope to visit one this week in celebration of Mardi Gras!


Today I am featuring items that would be perfect for any Mardi Gras celebration, when worn separately of course!

Red Hot!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so I’m sure you have all been inundated with red, pink, roses and hearts in just about every store that you have shopped at.

This year my bf and I are going to have a simple and inexpensive Valentine’s Weekend. We do plan on going out to a restaurant for a date night this week, but in celebration of Valentine’s Day, we are staying in and we are cooking a romantic dinner together.

However, if you plan of going out for a special dinner with your significant other and are wearing a LBD, these featured hot pumps are the perfect addition to take your ensemble to the next level so you can go out and paint the town RED!

Crystal Clear

Lucite is back again this year and will probably make it's big debut in most stores just in time for warm Summer months.

Clear accessories and shoes were seen all over the Spring 2010 runways, and some designers even incorporated lucite accent into their garments. I remember when Jellies sandals were the rage, so this new and grown up approach to lucite makes me feel like a kid again without looking like one!


Below are some of my favorite lucite picks! I find them to be very chic and modern than tacky.

Michael Kors Runway Sandal - I think this would look great with a crisp LWD for the Summer. These sandals remind me of the Spring 2010 Gucci sandals, and are a far cry from the typical clear stripper sandal that comes to mind when someone mentions clear pumps, lol!



Michael Kors Opal Ballerina Flat - not too sure how these would look on my feet, but I think they're a great change from the usual flip flop. They'd be perfect for lounging by the pool or for a beach day.



Michael Kors Kass Chain Tote - this bag is the perfect Summer bag for an evening out. It goes along perfect with the shoes feature above as well.


Michael Kors Rhodium Bead Necklace - I love this necklace!!! It's a classic style that can be worn with just about any outfit because it's colorless!


Michael Kors Oversized Acrylic Chronograph Watch - I also love this watch. It's a great alternative to a white watch for Spring/Summer.

I know that Michael Kors may be a bit pricey for many budgets, and it's not always the wisest thing to spend an ample amount of money on trendy items that may fade once the season is over. If you want to add a few lucite pieces to your wardrobe check out Forever 21, Claire's, H&M and Target for inexpensive items.
